What Compels Us

Mission Statement

The King’s Purse is a fund foundation which seeks to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ through generosity toward, and prayer for various ministries which have as their principle goal(s) the great commission of Christ found in Matthew 28:19-20, and mercy ministries (Matthew 25:35-36)

Vision Statement

Establishment of a permanent fund foundation serving the needs of many evangelism minded organizations/individuals through the generosity of believers. Encourage the next generation to participate in this type of accountable giving, thus perpetuating the organization.

Premise

The King’s Purse seeks to do the same as the early church, with a group of individuals whom God has blessed with the ability to “distribute the proceeds to all, as any have need”. It relies on the wisdom of many counselors to vet organizations and distribute to them in a way that pleases and honors Jesus Christ.

And all who believed were together and had all things in common. And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.   And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts. Acts 2:44-46

Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. 33  And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. 34  There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold 35  and laid it at the apostles; feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need. 36  Thus Joseph, who was also called by the apostles Barnabas (which means son of encouragement), a Levite, a native of Cyprus, 37  sold a field that belonged to him and brought the money and laid it at the apostles’ feet. Acts 4:32-37

These verses demonstrate the sense of community and responsibility in the early church, and their desire to meet the needs of others because they cared about their brothers and sisters in Christ. They exemplified good stewardship of the gifts given by God, and sought not to please themselves.

Joy in Giving

2 Corinthians 8:1-5

1 We want you to know, brothers, about the grace of God that has been given among the churches of Macedonia, 2  for in a severe test of affliction, their abundance of joy and their extreme poverty have overflowed in a wealth of generosity on their part. 3  For they gave according to their means, as I can testify, and beyond their means, of their own accord, 4  begging us earnestly for the favor of taking part in the relief of the saints— 5  and this, not as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then by the will of God to us.

Community Giving

Eliminate expressive individualism (“my fund, my way”) by building a community of givers, a community of generosity, and teach that to the next generation.

Accountability

To have accountability and a single purpose among brothers for motive and goal.

Friendship and Fellowship

To foster the friendship and fellowship of generosity.

Multi-Generational Stewardship

To help train and disciple the next generations in giving and stewardship
